Wen-Do is the longest running Women’s Self-Defence organization in Canada in operation for over 50+ having served over 100,000+ women and girls around the world.
The name combines a contraction of the word women with the Japanese word Dō, meaning “way”.
This workshop will be taught by Alexandra Wiseman, a social worker and certified Wen-Do instructor with a Master’s in Human Kinetics, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Social Work. Her teaching emphasizes the mind-body connection and self-awareness, and she brings a heartfelt passion for empowering others.
What:
- physical + verbal self-defence techniques
- discussions about sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment + more
- explore workplace scenarios including outdoors, workplaces, school, home, cars, parties + more
- learn resources + skills to support others and ourselves
Where: Location provided after registration, Avenue + Lawrence (free parking)
