Learn to speak Spanish with your family just because, or in preparation for an exciting holiday!

At HOLA (Hispanic Open Learning Academy), we apply an open learning methodology, which is an innovative movement in education that includes adapting to kids’ learning styles; for instance, we use all five senses when teaching. We started this Spanish language academy because we saw children losing the ability to speak in their mother tongue. Our purpose is to help families to keep their mother tongue, as well as to introduce this beautiful Romance language to non-Spanish speakers. We understand that each child has a unique learning style, and we adapt our methods to cater to their individual needs. But we don't stop there! We infuse every class with vibrant cultural elements, making the language come alive in a truly immersive experience.

Whether it's the flexibility of online classes or the convenience of after-school programs at your home with your child and his or her circle of friends, we strive to bring Spanish education to your doorstep. Our goal is to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all, whether you're a young student or an adult seeking language mastery or learning to go away on holiday!

Join us on this exciting journey as we foster a love for the Spanish language and culture. We offer Circles of learning for:

  • Children and youth and their friends to learn a new language or preserve a mother tongue
  • Adults seeking to broaden their horizons by learning a new language
  • Friends and Family going away on holiday to a Spanish speaking country
  • Organizations that offers services to Spanish speakers and would like to get their staff up to speed

HOLA is here to guide you every step of the way. Together, let's embark on a path that celebrates linguistic diversity and unlocks the door to a world of possibilities.

About

Patricia, originally from Colombia, obtained her bachelor's degree in Business and Finance, as well as her Diploma in Spanish as a second language, in her home country. In 2005, she relocated to Canada, coinciding with the birth of her children. Despite being in a new environment, Patricia made it a priority to preserve her native language within her family.

Driven by her belief in the value of integrating Spanish into extracurricular activities, Patricia developed a language program that fosters open learning. Her aim is to enable all participants to speak, write, and read Spanish while embracing a fun and enjoyable learning experience. This commitment led to the creation of HOLA, an initiative dedicated to extending this language learning opportunity to others. Patricia's entire family actively participates in various capacities to support HOLA's mission.

Moreover, Patricia aspires to assist non-Spanish speakers, regardless of age, in acquiring this beautiful and practical language. Recognizing the increasing global significance of Spanish, she endeavors to help children and adults alike embrace its richness and usefulness.
