Zezafoun takes its name from the Arabic term for linden trees, historically recognized as meeting points for socializing, dining, and shared experiences. These trees symbolize communal gathering, embodying ideals of peace and harmony.
Established in 2018 in midtown Toronto at 4 Manor Road at Yonge + Eglinton, Zezafoun seeks to capture the essence of such communal spaces. Here, patrons are encouraged to connect over food and shared traditions. Syrian cuisine, characterized by a dedication to fresh, locally sourced ingredients and meticulous preparation, reflects a rich culinary history. Chef Yola, drawing from her cultural roots, prioritizes local and seasonal elements, creating a fusion of spices and flavors that engage all the senses.

Chef Yola and her daughter Marcelle welcome you to their little Syria to enjoy the sights and flavours of their native home. The restaurant was created as a place of sharing, for those curious about Syrian cuisine, and also as a neighbourhood source for mamas cooking!
